Fashion Designer, collaborative Artist, and also a French Marquis, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has a vibrant career that has spanned 45 years, and continues to soar to new heights each year! He pioneered the bold cross between Fashion and Art, and as such, his idiosyncratic and innovative creations are a fun mix of bright colours and pop culture references, occasionally feature toys and always have a sense of humour. He has been inspired by and collaborated with many renowned artists over the span of his career, and has been exhibited in countless galleries and museums across the world, such as the V+A in London and the Fashion Museum of Paris.
He has dressed, made costumes for and collaborated with models, musicians, actors, designers, directors and artists such as Jerry Hall, Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, Farrah Fawcett, André Courrèges, Gérard Garouste, Max Mara, Woody Allen, Dita Von Teese and The Pope. Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, MIA, Beyonce and Kanye West can all be counted as huge fans, with each wearing his designs for countless performances and award ceremonies.
